Honolulu-based marine surveyor with over 25 years of hands-on maritime experience — bespoke service that works with you directly and is your boots on the ground.
Harry is a Marine Surveyor and Marine Engineering professional with 25 years of hands-on experience across the maritime industry — shipyard operations, vessel engineering, construction and repair, oil spill response, and regulatory vessel inspections.
His career began in 2004 with the U.S. Coast Guard as a Small Boat Engineer and Maritime Law Enforcement Officer. From there, Harry came up through the hawsepipe — working as a marine mechanic on recreational and commercial vessels, then as port engineer at a local shipyard constructing tractor tugs and handling a wide range of vessel repairs, before transitioning to chief engineer aboard an oil spill response vessel.
In 2018, Harry entered the marine insurance industry as a surveyor, and was fortunate to be mentored by an industry legend in his twilight years in the Pacific Northwest. Harry's surveying journey led him to work for global insurance TPA conglomerates such as Charles Taylor and Sedgwick.
OMNI is a one-person practice, and that's the point. When you reach out, you're talking to the surveyor — not a call center, not a coordinator. Here's what that means for you.
In 2026, Harry founded OMNI Marine. The word Omni — Latin in origin — means "all" or "every." The wide array of experience and exposure gained throughout his career makes him a unique marine surveyor, with a catalogue that ranges almost all or every.
Based in Honolulu — available wherever the work is.
Harry regularly travels for assignments and is available for mobilization to vessels in port or underway throughout the Pacific, U.S. East & West Coasts, and beyond. He has taken assignments in the remote Pacific Islands and Alaska. Whether it's receiving a call in the morning for Vigo, Spain and arriving the next day — or flying out to New York to inspect a vessel in drydock, then straight to Ecuador for a US-flagged fishing vessel — he is always willing and ready to go where his clients need him.
Tell Harry a bit about your vessel and what you need — he'll get back to you promptly, typically within one business day.
